Joshua Combs
MVEF President
Josh Combs serves as President of the Moreno Valley Education Foundation and is an IT Analyst III with the Moreno Valley Unified School District's Technology & Innovation Department. He is currently assigned to the District's Enrichment & Expanded Learning Department, where he provides leadership and technology support for MVUSD's Esports, Cyber, Robotics, and Coding programs, as well as technology initiatives supporting ELOP-funded programs and expanded learning opportunities.
Passionate about creating innovative learning experiences, Josh works to connect technology, education, and community partnerships to expand opportunities for students. Through his work with both MVUSD and the Moreno Valley Education Foundation, he is committed to helping provide resources, scholarships, and enrichment programs that empower every student to discover their potential and prepare for future success.
Ema Batongmalaque
MVEF Vice President
An MVUSD alumni from elementary through high school, Ema now works for Riverside County and is passionate about enriching our students' lives through arts and culture. She holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from CSU Sacramento and an A.S. in Administration of Justice from Riverside Community College.
Dr. Myshia LeBoss

Assistant Principal at Mountain View Middle School! With over 26 years in education, Dr. LeBoss brings a deep commitment to creating school environments where every student feels seen and supported. Her leadership is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and the belief that strong relationships are the foundation of a strong school. Passionate about cultivating a safe, inclusive environment where staff and students thrive and are empowered to be the best version of themselves.

Maria Rosales
Board Member
Maria Rosales is currently the Public Relations Officer for Taqueria 2 Potrillos. She is very involved in the communities she serves and is the chair of the ambassador program for Perris Chamber of Commerce. Maria’s mission is to foster meaningful connections that enable individuals to thrive and reach their full potential. As part of our team, her mission is to nourish education through empowering students and teachers with the tools and support essential for learning and growth.
Eduardo Corona
Board Member
Eduardo Corona graduated from Canyon Springs High School in 2024 and is attending the University of Redlands, studying Education, Public Policy, and Social Change. At Redlands, he participates in the school's chapel singers choir and serves as an Outdoor Programs trip leader. Outside of school, he has served his community in multiple forms. He served on State Superintendent Tony Thurmond's Youth Advisory Council and as the first Student Board Member on the MVUSD Board of Education. After college, Eduardo plans to pursue a Master's in International Education Policy and Analysis with a career goal of being an education policy consultant in the public or private sector.
Alicia Grissom

With more than twenty years of experience in education, Alicia Grissom brings a deep commitment to student achievement, equity, and community partnership. As an Assistant Principal in Moreno Valley Unified School District, she serves on the leadership team and works alongside educators and stakeholders who exemplify excellence through purposeful service. Alicia Grissom is honored to serve on the Moreno Valley Education Foundation Board, supporting initiatives that positively impact students, families, and the broader Moreno Valley community.
Brian Jackson
Board Member
Brian Jackson is a dedicated educator and administrator who joined the Moreno Valley Education Foundation (MVEF) Board with a deep commitment to student success and community enrichment.
For Mr. Jackson, education is entirely about purpose. He initially entered the classroom to help students discover their own "why"—sparking excitement and hope for coming to school every single day. He spent six years fostering this inspiration while teaching Graphic Design and Animation at Vista del Lago High School, from 2019 to 2025. Driven by a desire to broaden his scope and support students on a larger scale, he transitioned into school leadership, taking on his current role as Assistant Principal at Badger Springs Middle School in January 2025.
Joining the MVEF Board is the natural next step in this mission. Mr. Jackson is thrilled to channel his passion into the foundation, expanding his impact beyond the school walls to create lasting, positive change across the entire Moreno Valley community.
An alumnus of Brigham Young University-Idaho, Mr. Jackson earned his Bachelor’s degree in 2020 and went on to complete a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University in 2024.

Jesus Holguin
Board Member
Jesús M. Holguín brings more than 40 years of experience in public education, specializing in governance, school finance, and community leadership. He served on the Moreno Valley Unified School District Governing Board from 2002 to 2024 and became the first Latino president of the California School Boards Association in two decades, where he championed equity, student achievement, and expanded access to arts education.
A strong advocate for family engagement, Mr. Holguín has held leadership roles across PTA organizations. He currently serves as Chair of Create California and President of the Pacific Crest Youth Arts Organization, advancing arts education opportunities for students statewide.
Professionally, he has worked with the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools since 1985 and remains active in the California Association of School Business Officials. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration (Accounting) from California State University, San Bernardino, and a Master in Governance from CSBA.

Destiny is currently a student at Valley View High School, where she participates in clubs, and in leadership roles. She’s passionate about education and student advocacy as a result she strives to ensure students are supported and heard.
Dr. Alejandro Ruvalcaba
At-Large Board Member - MVUSD Superintendent
The Superintendent of Schools provides the educational leadership for all schools and 32,000 students of the Moreno Valley Unified School District. This includes directing the implementation of district-wide goals, plans, strategies, policies and budgets, and recommending their approval by the board of education.
Together with the dedicated educators, staff, and supportive community of Moreno Valley, Dr. Ruvalcaba looks forward to building on the district’s successes and working collaboratively to ensure that all students receive a high-quality education that prepares them for future opportunities.
